New Book Chronicles Complete Story Of Soundgarden's Career

Soundgarden Performs At The Wiltern

There's finally going to be a comprehensive written history of Soundgarden.

Author and journalist Greg Prato says his upcoming book, Dark Black and Blue: The Soundgarden Story, tells the band's whole story.

Prato's tome starts with the band members' pre-Soundgarden days and tells their stories through the band's rise, some of its biggest tours, its reunion and its tragic conclusion with Chris Cornell's death in 2017.

Dark Black and Blue also dives deep into Soundgarden's albums and the stories behind some of the band's biggest songs, like "Black Hole Sun," "Jesus Christ Pose," "Outshined" and others.

It also includes interviews with the likes of radio personality Matt Pinfield, punk legend Marky Ramone and metal icon Philip Anselmo.

The book is available now in digital and paperback versions.
