Red Hot Chili Peppers Celebrate 'Californication' 20th Anniversary

Over the weekend, Red Hot Chili Peppers' celebrated the 20th anniversary of their seventh studio album, Californication, and the festivities didn't stop with a social media post. On the album's birthday (June 8), the band revealed on Twitter it would be releasing a limited edition picture disc to commemorate the milestone. Though the special record won't be released until September 13, it's available for pre-order via the band's official online store.

"Vinyl collectors, pre-order the limited edition #Californication picture disc now. To be released on September 13th," the post reads. "Plus get 20% off select merch in the Shop here. Sale ends June 15th at 11:59pm PDT"

The Red Hot Chili Peppers aren't the only band celebrating a big musical milestone this year. Blink-182's iconic third album (first with Travis Barker) Enema of the State also turned 20 this month. Last week, the pop punk veterans announced they'd be celebrating the anniversary by performing the album in its entirety on every date of their summer co-headlining tour with Lil Wayne. Sadly, founding member Tom DeLonge will not be associated with the anniversary shows, but his replacement Matt Skiba will take his parts. Check out the full list of tour dates here.
