'School of Rock' Actor In Talks To Play Ozzy In Motley Crue Biopic

Hollywood gossip site The Tracking Board is reporting that star of Nickelodeon's School of Rock Tony Cavalero is in talks to play rock icon Ozzy Osbourne in Netflix's upcoming Motley Crue biopic The Dirt. The film is based on the band's best-selling biography of the same name which chronicles the decades of debauchery as the group rose to fame in the 80's.

The Dirt will star Daniel Webber of The Punisher as frontman Vince Neil, Douglas Booth as Nikki Sixx, rapper Machine Gun Kelly as drummer Tommy Lee, and Iwan Rheon of Game of Thrones fame as guitarist Mick Mars.

Motley Crue toured with Ozzy early in their career and stories of his drug use, sexual exploits, and rock and roll depravity are legendary.

Cavelero stars in Nickelodeon's television adaptation of the 2003 film and Broadway musical School of Rock, which premiered in 2016, where a rock-loving teacher introduces a group of stuffy, rule-abiding students the wonders of heavy metal.

The band members of Motley Crue are co-producing the film which has bounced around to different studios since 2003 before finally signing with Netflix. Motley Crue was formed in 1981 and performed their final show in 2015.
