Hollywood Vampires Planning Second Album

The world's most expensive bar band, the Hollywood Vampires, is plotting its second studio album.

Frontman Alice Cooper says the band will probably get together this summer to work through a number of song ideas.

"Everybody is writing right now," Cooper told Billboard. "We probably won't get into the album until the summer, and then it'll go quickly because we've all got a lot of songs."

Cooper is joined in Hollywood Vampires by Johnny Depp and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. The band is augmented by a rhythm section comprised of whomever is available among an all-star group of gold and platinum-selling rockers, including Duff McKagan, Robert DeLeo, Matt Sorum, Bruce Witkin and Tommy Henriksen.

While Hollywood Vampires is plotting a European tour this summer, any more touring than that would be a challenge to pull together.

"Johnny did five movies last year so he could free himself up for this, and the band's really anxious to get together," Cooper said.

He added that he hopes more rock 'n' roll royalty will hop into the studio with the band to record the new album.

"If somebody wants to jump onstage and play with us, if they know the songs and they fit, then come on up," he said. "If a Jimmy Page could come up and play with us, or a Jeff Beck or any of those guys and do a couple songs with us, they would fit right into Vampire world, 'cause they lived through that era."

The band takes its name from a celebrity drinking club from the '70s, which supposedly included John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Keith Moon and many others.

In March Cooper begins a new tour supporting his latest studio album, 2017's Paranormal. You can get all the tour dates here
