Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has been a recording artist a lot longer than most of his fans probably realize.
The singer, songwriter and legendary-pop punk figure shared an adorable photo via Instagram of his first-ever recording session.
A 5-year-old, red-headed (!) Armstrong can be seen wearing studio headphones standing between his first vocal instructor, "Mrs. Fiataroni," and the man who engineered his first-ever single, a song called "Look for Love."
Furthermore, Armstrong wrote in his caption, that 16 years after the photo was taken Green Day recorded its seminal, Dookie, album in that same studio!
And thanks to the all-encompassing power of the Internet, you can listen to a 5-year-old Billie Joe Armstrong sing "Look for Love" below!

I recorded a record called "Look for Love". 16 years later Green Day recorded Dookie in the same studio. (dude on the right was the engineer)
